GoFundMe campaign launched to catch killers
A GoFundMe campaign created by the brother of a slain senior motor vehicle inspector has achieved more than half of its target after five days.
Ainsley Carless was attacked and shot in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on November 26 after arriving at his house with his wife.
Carless’ brother Brian started the page to raise funds to offer a reward for information that may lead to the arrest of the persons responsible.
With a goal of US$1,000 (J$126,000), a total of US$565 (J$71,155) has been donated by nine persons.
“We cannot allow Ainsley’s death to be another unsolved death,” the message on the page said.
According to police report, the couple was attacked by armed men travelling in a motor car who opened fire hitting them.
They were taken to the hospital where Carless was pronounced dead, while his wife was admitted in hospital.
She is said to be in stable condition.
