Man stabbed for owing – bar bill
A bartender who was dragged before the court for wounding her customer because he refused to pay money he owed had her bail extended yesterday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
Charged with wounding is Tameka Martin.
She pleaded not guilty to the offence.
Martin told the court that she was not the person who stabbed the complainant and caused him to be admitted at the Kingston Public Hospital for three days.
The court heard that Martin allegedly used a broken beer bottle to stab the complainant.
She refuted that claim, and said: “Him owe me some money, and I asked for it. Him lick me with an umbrella, and I threw the bottle at him. Some guys gang him and stab him up.”
The medical report in the matter is outstanding.
Martin had her bail extended until February 9.
