Josh Waring is facing more legal troubles behind bars.
E! News can confirm the former Real Housewives of Orange County star was charged with possession of contraband while in prison.
According to police, Josh “knowingly and unlawfully” had an alcoholic beverage called Pruno while in the men’s maximum security jail. The crime is considered a felony.
This past summer, Lauri Peterson‘s son was arrested after allegedly shooting a man in Costa Mesa, Calif., and fleeing in a stolen car.
According to police, Josh pulled the trigger and then fled the scene in a stole BMW SUV. Officers gave chase and, “after a brief standoff, he surrendered without further incident,” police stated. Josh, who has a history of drug problems and run-ins with the law, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, vehicle theft, felony evading police, hit-and-run, and assault and battery.
During earlier seasons of the Real Housewives of Orange County, Lauri was open about Josh’s problems including his battle with addiction.
Viewers witnessed Josh head to rehab in season three and by season four, it was revealed that he had a heroin addiction prompting Lauri’s exit from the series.
And while she left the show full-time in 2008, the former Bravo star opened up about her troubled son just last year through Bravo.
“As most of the viewers know, I have a son and he’s had just a lot of challenges. And he and his wife had a baby almost three years ago. He’s really struggling and, well, they’re both really struggling,” she shared with The Daily Dish. “And so [my husband] George and I elected to help out and we actually adopted Kennedy, and so we’re raising her.”
