Scoopie Loopie – Musicians and Entertainers being recruited from overseas to play reggae in hotels – Peter Phillips

Speaking at a celebratory dinner for Member of Parliament Derrick Kellier, Leader of the Opposition Peoples National Party Dr Peter Phillips told PNP supporters that rights that were gained by the trade union movement in Jamaica are under threat.

Phillips said it was evident in the St James area where hotel previously owned by Jamaicans are being sold to overseas people and thus managers for example are being replaced by workers from overseas.

“What we are seeing?, not only managers but musicians and entertainers being recruited from overseas to play reggae in our own country…” lamented Dr Peter Phillips.
