Recording artiste and Juno nominated songwriter/producer, Black Orchid, has invited fans to get to know her a little bit better, with the video for her single, Show Yuh.
The single, which can be described as a sensual quarantine release, is supported by an equally captivating video.
A reggae-inspired artiste, who based in Toronto, Canada, Orchid is a multifaceted creative who has displayed exceptional writing and vocals to her own productions. Her records are genre-bending and innovative, and Show Yuh‘ is no different.
“It’s incredibly surreal about how the song has gained as much traction both here in Canada and now Jamaica. I never thought in a million years that this many people would be listening and loving my song and I am so grateful,” said Black Orchid.
Fusing her Jamaican roots into the track, the single brings a modern dancehall sound, garnering positive reviews among the greater Canadian diaspora. The single, featuring Kelard Tha Lyricist, is currently grabbing the attention of Spotify and has captured coveted slots on premium reggae and dancehall playlists.
Orchid has produced alongside Sly & Robbie and has worked with artistes like DeeWunn and Maestro Fresh Wes. She is the founder of the That’s a Dope Sample music project, where she teaches various aspects of sampling.
