Damage Musiq’s ‘Tropical Depression’ creates waves | Entertainment
When music producer Damage debuted on the music scene almost a decade ago, he made it his goal to be among the elite in his field.
He has copped multiple hits from some of dancehall’s major acts like Tommy Lee Sparta ( Blessings), TeeJay ( From Rags To Riches), Shane O ( Last Days), Chronic Law ( Bless Me), and Rygin King ( Me, Myself and I).
Now the multifaceted producer is promoting his rhythm, titled ‘Tropical Depression’, which features an array of musical acts like Kranium, Shatta Wale, Jahmiel and Navino.
“The entire riddim is doing well and I am pleased with the responses I have been receiving across social media. The riddim was premiered by Seanie B on BBC 1 Extra and Bobby Konders at Hot 97 and this boosted the reach of the music even more. TeeJay, Rygin King, Navino and Jahmiel are currently trending on several major streaming sites including YouTube and Audiomack and I have to give thanks to everyone who has made this project a success, my team, the artistes and the loyal fans who support good music,” said Damage.
To add to his many hats, he has found himself in artiste management, a choice he made after years of offering rewarding advice to several entertainers.
His label, Damage Musiq, recently signed recording artiste Binelly, who the producer describes as “Jamaica’s next top act”.
“I met Binelly at a studio session in Montego Bay and after working with him, my thoughts were that he is versatile and full of energy and people gravitate to him because of that. We are in the studio continuously putting in work and we have much more to come from Binelly,” said Damage.
The official video for Binelly’s track Ride that is featured on the compilation is set to be released in a couple of weeks.
