🚨 Emergency JPS Meeting Set for Today Following Islandwide Power Outages

Energy Minister Daryl Vaz has announced that an emergency meeting with JPS will be held at 12:00 PM today at the JPS Command Centre following widespread power outages across Jamaica.

As of 5:00 AM Saturday, approximately 500,000 customers had their electricity restored, with restoration efforts continuing across all parishes. The remaining affected customers are expected to have power restored by early this morning.

The emergency meeting will be followed by a media briefing as the Government seeks answers regarding the outage and ongoing restoration efforts.

“I have been closely monitoring the situation all night and will continue to do so until full restoration is completed. I commit to keeping the nation advised and updated on this UNACCEPTABLE SITUATION,” Vaz stated.
