Jada Kingdom inks deal with US label Republic Records | Entertainment
Dancehall artiste, Jada Kingdom, has secured a new record deal with Republic Records, a New York City-based record label owned by Universal Music Group.
The announcement of what is being touted as “the biggest ever for a female artiste from the Caribbean,” was made via Instagram today by her partner, singer/songwriter, Verse Simmonds.
In a series of photos and videos posted to his page, Simmonds, a multi-Grammy nominated entertainer, also shared that since they’ve been together, he and Jada have been working overtime to get a new beginning.
He said the Heavy singer has finally reached “a position of power”.
“It took a lot of sweat and tears but it was all worth it!! Now it is time for you to reap the rewards for all the struggles endured to get you here,” a part of the caption read.
“I am beyond proud of you and what we have done together. Look at how far we have come! You are one of the most naturally talented people that [I] know and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this moment,” Simmonds stated.
Jada Kingdom confirmed the news in a post of her own. Dubbing the deal something that she has “prayed for”, she expressed gratitude at the opportunity.
“God I love you, I trust you. Thank you! @versesimmonds it’s safe to say I lost our bet and you told me so! We work soo [expletive]hard! This is so personal for us. You made me believe in myself way more than I ever did and you’ve been fighting with me thru everything. I’m happy I didn’t give up, happy I trusted your word. I love you. I’m grateful for you! THANK YOU,” a part of her post read.
She also took the time out to give thanks to her new manager, Marc Jordan and her new team at Wide Eyed Entertainment.
Jordan is yet to respond to email queries from The STAR.
This news come some two months after a lawsuit was filed against Jada Kingdom by her former management company, Popstyle Music.
