JULIET CUTHBERT-FLYNN CONDEMNS COMMENTS MADE BY BUNTING ABOUT SPARK
West Rural St. Andrew Member of Parliament, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, is describing as evil, barefaced and shameless a claim by PNP caretaker, Peter Bunting that the Government’s SPARK programme is intended to buy an election while using a Chinese company.
Bunting made the claim while he spoke on a political platform on the weekend.
Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn noted that the SPARK programme is above board, properly thought out and will go to international tender.
“The fact of the matter is this programme has met the standard of probity and will address a critical need of the Jamaican people for better roads. Bunting’s move to dub the programme a con is disgraceful and reinforces the shameless nature of the PNP which over 22-years ago promised that Jamaica would be ‘Pot Hole Free by 2003 but failed to deliver’, Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn commented.
Ms. Cuthbert-Flynn says Bunting’s move to disparage overseas companies represents a continuation of his trend of xenophobic comments used as a cover to distract from the incompetence of former PNP-administrations which lacked the fixity of purpose to address challenges which faced the Jamaican people.
