Korexion making the right moves | Entertainment
Reggae singer Korexion is currently revelling in the release of his two new tracks.
The first track, Can’t Stop Us Now, featuring Flashane, was released in April and is a high-tempo song with a powerful message.
“This is an inspirational song geared towards motivating each other to keep on moving. If you fall, get up with the mentality that they can’t stop us,” he explained.
The second track, Mama You Know, was released last month, just in time for Mother’s Day.
“This song is dedicated to my mom and every other mom in this world. In a time like this which is full of uncertainty, every day is supposed to be Mother’s Day for our mothers, and this song is to show that we love them and will always be there for them, while appreciating their sacrifices and hard work,” he said.
Both released under the 3P Entertainment and Korexion Music labels, the songs are especially significant to the artiste because of their impactful content.
“So far the feedback has been amazing. I’ve gotten messages of gratitude; people are liking both songs and sending encouragement to me to continue promoting them as they are needed at a time like this,” he said.
Solidifying his place in the music industry for almost two decades, Korexion got his first international break in Canada in 2004. A major milestone in his career was his 2007 win for Best Reggae Recording at the Canadian Juno Awards.
Now, he is working on his new album.
“I’m hoping that once the world is open for business again, I’ll be able to do a world tour and continue to promote our island’s beloved reggae music and its other genres to the rest of the world,” he said.
