Likkle Peppa signs deal with recording company | Entertainment
Music producer Javon ‘Likkle Peppa’ Downer has inked a deal to operate as an artiste and repertoire ( A&R) agent with UK-based recording company Nafti Records.
“I would like to thank the label for the opportunity to work with their roster of artistes and help execute their vision. I will be working with a lot of established and upcoming artistes like Turbulence, Famus Flame and Philan Ice,” said Downer.
“The fact that I will soon become a father also pushes me to seek out new opportunities. I want to continue to develop talent from the inner-city and inspire others to choose music over guns and violence,” said Downer, who is pushing his own LPR Boss brand.
Downer grew up in a small community called Bells Heights in Gordon Pen, near Spanish Town, St Catherine. After leaving Waterford High School, he entered the National Youth Service. However, music remained his first love.
He then began to experiment with making beats, and soon completed his first project, the Peppa Christmas rhythm. In 2014, he scored his first minor hit song with Ganggoolie’s single Puppy Tail that popped up on a number of ethnic charts overseas and created a big buzz nationwide.
Last year, Downer released a song titled Mama, featuring former Digicel Rising Stars winner Short Boss, which was distributed via 21st Hapilos.
