Producer delivers ‘fresh’ rhythm | Entertainment
Money Matters Entertainment, the label owned by up-and-coming producer News is set to release the Fresh Prince of JA rhythm.
The rhythm is a dancehall/hip-hop fusion compilation which features a number of well-known dancehall and reggae acts. According to the producer, the project, which was released last Friday, is set to be a hit.
“I created a rhythm that showcased my two biggest musical influences, dancehall and hip hop. I really love the sound that comes from fusing the two with the right balance, and I’m sure, with all the effort I put into it and who’s on it so far, it will be a hit,” he said. “I’m happy with how the songs turned out on the project, and even though we have officially released the rhythm, we are still looking at voicing other artistes because we want this to be as solid and as memorable as a rhythm can be.”
Chart-topping dynamic duo
Fresh Prince of JA features songs such as Beenie Man’s Put Her In The Middle, Chi Ching Ching’s Into Me, and the title track from Tarrus Riley.
News, who is the son of Michigan of the ’80s chart-topping dynamic duo Michigan and Smiley, is the current label manager for Sean Paul’s Dutty Rock Production.
He has spearheaded rhythms such as No Caption, Calalloo and Gang Gang. The latter has seen much success with some hit singles from the likes of Sean Paul and Chi Ching Ching.
News said his latest project should see similar success and wants Jamaicans to throw their support behind it.
“This riddim has a fresh sound, a great vibe and some feel-good music, and so I just want people to support the work,” he said.
