Queen Kamarla juggling music and philanthropy | Entertainment

Juggling music and philanthropy is no easy task for Queen Kamarla, but the Trench Town-born singjay would have it no other way.

“Growing up in Trench Town, I experienced a lot of hardships, but I was always confident that I would not be a failure. I also made a promise to myself that I would find a way to help the people in my community,” said the artiste.

“Over the past 10 years, I’ve been keeping an event for the youths in Trench Town called the Trench Town Unity Fest. It’s a big fun day with lots of treats and activities for the youths in the community. I have also provided back-to-school supplies for the youths and much-needed items for the sick and the elderly, including wheelchairs. I’ve also donated wheelchairs and other items to people in other inner-city communities,” she said.

One of Queen Kamarla’s most significant initiatives is the annual Stop The Violence campaign.

“Since 2017, I’ve been partnering with various government agencies, non-profit organisations and corporate sponsors to promote peace and harmony in the inner city. Since we launched the Stop The Violence campaign, we’ve taken this event to 36 inner-city communities including August Town, Trench Town, Rockfort, Greenwich Farm, Tivoli Gardens, Olympic Gardens and Seaview Gardens,” said Queen Kamarla.

The hard-working entertainer is currently promoting a video and single titled Know Your Purpose.
