Sadekie Lennox calls for more opportunities for new talent | Entertainment

After taking a two-year break from music to focus on personal matters, singer Sadekie Lennox is back with a new single titled Diversity.

He is, however, concerned about the lack of support, training and opportunities for non-established creatives like himself. He believes more can be done to enhance and nurture emerging talent in the local music industry.

“Some of the challenges that I face as an up-and-coming artiste is that we don’t get the justice that we deserve when it comes to our songs being played on the radio. Then there is the financial struggle to get things done in terms of promotion and exposure. Oftentimes we face rejection from persons just because we are not established or have a hit song,” he explained.

He is calling on members of the industry to try and effect changes to encourage more creatives to pursue their musical aspirations.

“I would like to see a workshop for young artistes that will help them to develop their craft, and to also help them in becoming better artistes and stage performers. There should also be a platform to provide financial support that will build artistes and their talent,” he added.

The artiste doesn’t intend to allow the issues to deter him from following his dreams.

“I plan to deal with these issues by not giving up, working harder and putting more time and effort into my craft. Remain focused, keep a positive mindset and continue being humble,” he said.

Sadekie Lennox, who is originally from Gibraltar in St Ann, says he is hoping to achieve success and have a long-lasting career in music.

“I am hoping to achieve all the success there is musically, creating hits after hits, topping major music charts, travel the world while increasing my fan base locally and internationally. I want to create a brand that will live on for generations to come,” he shared.
