For the past eight months, Marlene Campbell of Springfield, St. Elizabeth, has been sleeping in a rocking chair inside the bathroom of her roofless home after Hurricane Melissa destroyed the house she once called home.

Despite repeatedly seeking assistance, Campbell said she had not received any Government support.

Yesterday, however, Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr., along with Member of Parliament for North West St. Elizabeth, Andrew Morris, visited Springfield as part of the Ministry’s ROOFS field engagement.

BOJTV and iFLIX MEDIA spoke exclusively with Marlene Campbell following the visit.

She expressed heartfelt gratitude to Minister Charles and MP Morris, praising their swift intervention and the attention given to her situation.
