Triple Ess says ‘love is what we need’ | Entertainment
Reggae artiste Triple Ess is ready to unleash his unique sound on the world with a single called Love Is What We Need, which features superstars Luciano and Busy Signal.
He feels that the release is quite timely, given the emotional turmoil being experienced in the US.
“This song could not come out at a better time, a time of great turbulence and uncertainty, what with the Black Lives Matter movement with the protests in the US over the death of George Floyd. This comes directly after the COVID-19 pandemic with all those deaths and rising unemployment and uncertainty. The world is in a dark place right now, that’s why we need reggae music, that’s why we need this song,” said Triple Ess.
The artiste, given name Solomon Salmon, was raised in Portmore, St Catherine. He discovered music early on through attendance at school barbecues, class parties and fetes, while attending Bridgeport High School.
He began to frequently visit recording studios such as JR Records, where he discovered his true calling and began working as an audio engineer.
“That was the start of my journey in music,” he said.
He worked as an audio engineer for nine years, fine-tuning his skills. By 2014, Triple Ess had become a senior audio engineer at the world-renowned recording studio Mixing Lab.
Since then, Triple Ess has worked with veteran producers and artistes such as Clive Hunt, Colin ‘Bulby’ York, Junior Reid, Gyptian, Konshens and Jah Cure.
He will be shooting a video with Luciano and Busy Signal for Love Is What We Need later this month. He has released other singles such as Never Give Up on You, and Love How Yu Wine.
