PM Andrew Holness visits the historic Morant Bay Court House

When you stand in front of the courthouse in Morant Bay, you are standing on sacred ground. And when you stand there, you must remember the bravery that won us our freedom and take pride that running through our veins, the blood of our ancestors who sacrificed to give us a life they couldn’t have for themselves.

This is a heritage of which we must be exceedingly proud.

We have started the process to preserve our historic towns, including Morant Bay and urge Jamaicans to appreciate that we are from a lineage of greatness and we must honour, respect and remember our ancestors.
